A QR code arrives on your phone the day before you visit. You scan it at the gate, pass through security like everyone else, and then you're inside one of Istanbul's most visited landmarks without the twenty-minute queue at the ticket booth. That's the whole thing: no guide, no group, no audio unless you want it. The ticket gets you in. What you do with the space is yours.
Hagia Sophia sits in the old city, walkable from the Blue Mosque and the bazaar. Once you're through security, the building opens up: the dome hangs above you, the light comes through the windows, and if you've got WhatsApp on your phone, you can scan the QR codes mounted near the mosaics to hear audio explanations as you move through the rooms. It's optional, and it's not a tour. You set the pace. Children under seven don't need a ticket at all. They enter free with a valid ID or passport, which you sort at the booth when you arrive.
The ticket does not skip security. Everyone waits in the security line. That's standard for the building. What you skip is the separate ticket purchase line, which saves time but isn't the same as fast-track entry. Your QR code is your proof of admission, sent via WhatsApp or email, and once it's delivered the day before, the service is complete on our end. If restoration work is happening inside or entry rules change, that's not something we can control. The ticket gets you to the door, and what happens after that is between you and Hagia Sophia.
