The Experience

Hotel pickup takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on where you're staying in Fethiye. Once everyone is on board, you stop at a gas station where the guide goes over the day and collects lunch orders—this is also where you can buy water guns, waterproof phone cases or water shoes if you didn't bring your own. Then the convoy heads out.

The first water fight happens in Çırpı Forest, a 45-minute stop where you and the group soak each other before moving on. You pass Tlos Ancient City next—a quick photo stop from the vehicle to catch the Lycian ruins from a distance. Yakapark comes after that, a natural park built around a restaurant and trout farm with waterfalls and over-water swings; if you want to zipline here, you can add it on. Before lunch, there's another 15 to 20 minute water fight in the forest. Lunch itself is at Saklıbahçe Restaurant, positioned near the rock formations that frame Saklıkent Canyon.

After eating, you have 50 to 60 minutes to walk into the canyon on your own—long enough to wade into the water, climb around the rocks or just stand under the walls. The canyon is 18 kilometers long and 300 meters deep, so there's room to go as far as you want in that window. When you come back, a final 15 to 20 minute water fight waits by the riverside. The tour ends at a mud bath facility where you can soak in the pools, sit in private areas, grab snacks and drinks, and see photos from the day. Depending on group size, you're there for 1 to 1.5 hours. Drop-off back at your hotel takes up to 90 minutes.

Top questions

How long is the full day from pickup to drop-off?

The tour runs about 8 to 9 hours total, including the 45-minute to 1-hour pickup at the start and the same amount of time for drop-off at the end. The active part—stops, water fights, canyon time and lunch—fills the middle of the day.

What's included in the lunch?

Lunch is served at Saklıbahçe Restaurant near the canyon. You order it through your guide in the morning, and vegetarian or gluten-free meals are available if you ask.

Can I bring my own water gun or do I have to rent one?

You can bring your own. If you don't have one, the gas station stop at the start lets you rent or buy water guns for an extra fee.

What is Saklıkent Canyon like when you get there?

Saklıkent is Turkey's longest canyon—18 kilometers long and 300 meters deep—carved through solid rock. You get 50 to 60 minutes of free time to explore it at your own pace: wade in the water, climb the rocks or walk as far as you want in that window.

Are the optional activities like rafting and zipline worth adding?

Ringo rafting and monster truck safari are available in the canyon itself for an extra fee, and zipline is offered at Yakapark earlier in the day. All three cost 10 euros each. They're optional, so you only pay if you want to do them.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, children from age 1 are welcome. Infants can sit on an adult's lap, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels. The water fights and mud bath are designed to be fun for families.
