The experience
The tour opens with airport pickup at either Kayseri Erkilet or Nevşehir Kapadokya, then transfers you to your cave hotel for the first night. Day two, the Red Tour, starts early: Devrent Valley's otherworldly rock formations come first, followed by Paşabağı (Monks Valley), where three-headed fairy chimneys once held hermit cells carved by Christian monks. You'll stop in Avanos to watch pottery being made on the banks of the Red River, then move into Göreme Open Air Museum to see Byzantine cave churches and frescoes from the 3rd century onward. The day ends at Esentepe panoramic point overlooking the entire Göreme valley, then Uçhisar Castle, the highest rock in the region, before returning to your cave hotel.
Day three is the Blue Tour, starting at 9:45am with a hike through Red and Rose Valleys, the most remote and visually striking landscapes in Cappadocia. You'll reach Çavuşin Cave Village, where troglodyte dwellings carved into rock cliffs housed residents until the 20th century. After lunch, you descend into Kaymakli Underground City, one of the largest and deepest subterranean settlements, with stables, storage rooms, churches and wineries still visible in the stone. The final stop is Pigeon Valley, where dovecotes dot abandoned cave homes and you see the biggest concentration of fairy chimneys before transfer to the airport at 4:30pm.
The guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with the group throughout. Airport transfers, cave hotel accommodation, all entry fees and lunch on days two and three are included. Small-group format keeps the pace manageable and the experience intimate across all three days.
