The experience
A driver picks you up at your hotel and takes you to the ranch where the ride begins. Once there, your guide introduces you to the animal you've chosen (horse, camel, or carriage), and leads you out onto Berber tracks away from crowds. The landscape shifts from golden sand to rolling hills and green plains as you move toward the Lagoon of Djerba.
After about an hour, you stop at the lagoon's edge to photograph the water and rest. If you're on the evening departure, you'll catch the sunset from there. Before heading back to the ranch, you have the option to switch: if you rode out on horseback, you can return by camel or carriage instead. Each ride is led by one or two qualified instructors depending on group size, and the pace adjusts to the riders in your group. Bottled water and soda are provided.
The ride runs with a minimum of two participants and groups can be combined on request. All animals are trained and accustomed to carrying people, and the guides prioritize both rider and animal safety throughout. The activity is open to all ages and fitness levels, and people with reduced mobility can participate with support from the guides.
