The experience
Your guide picks you up from your accommodation at 9am and drives you to the rainforest entrance. The route itself is a sightseeing tour through Tobago. At the entrance you get a pair of rental boots for the walk. The Tobago Main Ridge Reserve is home to hidden streams, waterfalls, tropical wildlife and bird species that make it an animal lover's destination. A licensed guide leads you through low-intensity trails, pointing out local flora, fauna and birds as you move through the forest.
Lunch happens inside the reserve with a view of the hummingbirds that come to feed. The meal is local and prepared with any dietary needs you've mentioned beforehand. You return to your accommodation by 4pm. The whole day (drive, walk, lunch and return) fits into a single afternoon, so it works for travelers with limited time or a free day between other plans.
