You get hotel pickup, a 2.5-hour private drive to Pattaya, a 40-minute speedboat to Tien Beach on Koh Larn, your choice of snorkeling or water sports, lunch on the sand, and a stop at the Pattaya viewpoint before returning to your hotel by evening. The whole day is organized; you just show up at your hotel in the morning.
You're sitting in your Bangkok hotel room on a free afternoon, wondering if there's actually a beach within reach before evening. There is — Koh Larn, also called Coral Island, sits 150 kilometers southeast, and the whole trip fits into one day because someone else handles the driving. The morning pickup from your hotel starts early, and the private air-conditioned car takes you straight to Pattaya City. Two and a half hours later you're at the pier, boarding a speedboat that cuts across to Tien Beach on Koh Larn in forty minutes. The water is shallow and clear enough to see down, and by mid-morning you're standing on sand instead of concrete.
What you do next depends on what kind of day you want. Snorkeling works if you came for the underwater part. Sunbathing works if you came to stop moving. If you want speed, the island has jet skis, banana boats, parasailing, and sea walking — the kind of thing you'd have to book separately in the city, but here it's all there. Lunch happens on the beach with a view that doesn't require effort to find; you're already looking at it. The pace is yours, which matters more than it sounds when you've got a fixed return time and don't want to spend it rushing.
Late afternoon brings the ride back to Pattaya mainland and a stop at Khao Phra Tam Nak, a small hill on the south side of Pattaya Beach where the city spreads out below you in one panoramic shot. The viewpoint is the kind of place that justifies carrying a camera, or at least having your phone ready. From there it's the drive back to Bangkok, arriving around 6 or 7 in the evening — early enough that the day doesn't swallow your night.
