The experience

Four to five hours of paddling takes you through Ao Thalane's mangrove tunnels, where the trees form natural corridors over the water. You'll pass limestone mountains, navigate Ao Sai Canyon and explore Crocodile Cave. A sea cave the guide will explain as you approach. The route also reaches Talay Nai lagoon, a sheltered basin where the water stills and the wildlife becomes visible: monkeys move through the canopy, and bird species you won't see elsewhere in Krabi feed along the banks.

The day starts with hotel pickup around 8:30am or 1:30pm, depending on which departure you choose. At Ao Thalane Pier, your guide briefs you on technique and safety, then offers complimentary coffee or tea before you change and launch. The guide travels with your group (small enough that you're not paddling in a line of twenty), and shares details about the mangrove ecosystem as you move through it. After you return to the pier, fresh fruit and water wait before the transfer back to your hotel.

Life jackets and safety equipment are provided. Bottled water comes with you on the kayak, and full insurance covers the activity. The guide speaks English or Thai depending on your group.
