The experience

The tour starts at 8 AM with pickup from your hotel in the Old City or within 2 km of Sun Leisure World Chiang Mai, or you can meet the group at the Duang Tawan Hotel lobby. Your guide speaks English and will walk you through each site, explaining the history and significance of what you're standing in front of. The route covers three temples that show different sides of Chiang Mai's spiritual landscape.

Wat Chedi Luang sits in the heart of the old city: a towering ancient stupa surrounded by temple grounds where you can move at your own pace. From there, the group travels to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched on a mountain overlooking the city. You'll climb the staircase flanked by serpent sculptures to reach the golden stupa at the top, where the views of Chiang Mai spread out below. Wat Pha Lat, tucked into the forest outside the city, is quieter: moss-covered ruins and scattered relics set among trees and undergrowth, a different kind of temple experience from the two in town.

All three admission fees are included, as is your transport between stops and travel insurance. The tour wraps up after four hours and returns you to Duang Tawan Hotel or your pickup location. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) as a sign of respect at the temples.
