The experience
The day starts with pickup at Laem Chabang Port and a drive to Bangkok. Your English-speaking guide meets you there and takes you first to Wat Phra Kaeo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, where you'll see the sacred Emerald Buddha statue and walk through the temple's intricate courtyards and shrines. The serene design and craftsmanship throughout the complex set the tone for what follows.
Next is the Grand Palace, surrounded by 1782 walls and once the royal residence. You'll see the grand halls and learn about its role as the seat of Thai royalty and its cultural significance. From there you move to Wat Po, Bangkok's oldest and largest temple, founded in the 16th century. The main draw here is the famous Reclining Buddha: a massive statue measuring 46 meters in length and 15 meters in height. The temple also contains 95 pagodas and once served as Thailand's first open university. A public ferry then takes you across the Chao Phraya River to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, which stands on the west bank. The temple's distinctive towers, called the Phra Prang, are best viewed from across the river, but the monastery complex itself has narrow lanes, old white buildings, shrines and turtle pools worth exploring.
The tour wraps up with a visit to Pak Klong Talad Flower Market, one of the world's top ten flower markets, where you can walk through the four main sections. You'll then have free time at Icon Siam, a shopping mall on the Chao Phraya River, where you can browse shops or get a massage before the coach returns you to the port. A Thai local meal is included during the day, and the private longtail boat ride across the river is part of the package.

Top questions
What's the Reclining Buddha at Wat Po actually like when you get there?
The Reclining Buddha at Wat Po is a single massive statue measuring 46 meters in length and 15 meters in height, making it one of Bangkok's most recognizable sights. It lies inside the main temple building, and the scale of it becomes clear only when you're standing in front of it. Wat Po itself, founded in the 16th century, is the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok and contains 95 pagodas throughout its grounds.
Do I need to pay extra to enter the Grand Palace and temples?
Entrance fees to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Wat Po are optional add-ons you can choose at checkout. The tour includes pickup, transport, your guide and a Thai meal, but entry to these sites is separate if you want to go inside.
How does the boat ride work on this tour?
You'll cross the Chao Phraya River by public ferry to reach Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, on the west bank. The tour also includes a private longtail boat ride as part of the day's itinerary, giving you time on the water and a different view of the temples and riverbank.
What happens if my ship arrives late? Will the tour still get me back in time?
The tour is ten hours long and designed to return you to Laem Chabang Port in time for your ship's departure. Pickup is included from the cruise port, so your guide will coordinate with you at arrival. If your ship is delayed, let the operator know when you book so they can adjust the timing.
Is there time to shop or do anything else, or is it all temples?
The tour includes a stop at Pak Klong Talad Flower Market, one of the world's top ten flower markets, where you can walk through the different sections. At the end of the day, you'll have free time at Icon Siam, a shopping mall beside the Chao Phraya River, where you can explore shops or get a massage before heading back to the port.
