The experience
The experience centers on the "Singing Grind": the farm's signature method of processing coffee by hand while moving to traditional chants. You don't watch this happen. You do it. You'll pick beans from the plants, roast them over a wood fire, then grind them using a mortar and pestle while the family sings. The rhythm and the work are inseparable. By the end, you've made a cup of organic Arabica that tastes nothing like what you'd find in a cafe, because no machine touched it.
The farm sits on the verdant edge of Kilimanjaro National Park and operates at 100% organic standards. Pickup is included, and the family provides fresh seasonal fruit: bananas, avocados, or roasted groundnuts depending on the harvest. A live guide fluent in your language (English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of 16 others) walks you through each step. The whole visit runs four hours, which leaves the rest of your day open.
Infants and small children can come. Specialized seats are available for the youngest, and the farm is fully wheelchair accessible. This is a working family operation, not a demonstration you observe from a distance. You're part of the labor and the celebration that goes with it.
