A 4-day lodge safari from Arusha through four national parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Serengeti. The experience

Tarangire opens the safari. After arrival at Arusha airport or your hotel, you drive to Tanzania's third-largest national park, known for an unusually large elephant population. A game drive with picnic lunch fills the afternoon and evening, with dinner and overnight at your camping accommodation.

Day two takes you to Ngorongoro Crater. After early breakfast and a packed lunch, you descend 2,000 feet over 600 meters to the crater floor for a half-day tour. The crater itself is an animal-filled basin ringed by steep walls, home to thousands of flamingos and concentrated wildlife with nowhere to migrate.

Days three and four belong to the Serengeti. You set out at 6:30 am for 6–7 hours of game drives across the park's open grassland, where the seasonal migration is the draw: 250,000 zebras, 1.5 million wildebeest and 500,000 antelope move across the landscape alongside impala, buffalo, crocodile and hippo. After the extensive drive, you return to Arusha.
