The experience
The course runs three full days, starting with confined-water training on day one where you learn the fundamentals in a controlled setting before moving to open water. Days two and three take you to actual dive sites for four open-water internships (two on day two, two on day three), where you practice skills and build confidence at depths up to 18 meters. Between dives and training blocks, lunch is provided so you stay fueled through the day.
Your instructor brings an underwater camera to document your dives, and you'll use a Suunto ZOOP dive computer throughout the course to track your depth and bottom time. The 1:3 ratio means the instructor watches closely without rushing. The pace is built for learning without pressure. All SCUBA equipment is provided, and your certification is issued on day three after the final skills discussion, valid for diving and equipment rental worldwide.
The course accepts divers from age 10 upward and suits all fitness levels, though you'll need to be in good health and should consult a doctor if you have any existing medical conditions. Bring your own swimsuit and an ID photo (digital is fine). English-language instruction can be arranged if needed alongside Chinese teaching.
