Kreuzlingen Foxtrail Conexus is a two-hour self-guided urban adventure where you follow a fox's trail through clues, tasks and secret messages across Kreuzlingen and into a neighboring Swiss canton. You'll solve puzzles at permanently installed posts, use public transport between stops, and prove your sporting skills along the way. Children from age 4 are welcome. Bring your printed confirmation, starting documents and a charged phone.

The experience

Two hours on foot and by public transport, you're chasing a fox who's hunting for a 2,000-year-old wood splinter. The relic that gave Kreuzlingen its name. The trail is permanently installed, so the posts, clues and tasks stay the same each time. What changes is how your team reads them. You'll encounter a funny post board attached to an interesting building, playful furnishings, and unique technical items designed to give up their messages only if you solve them right. Some stops are straightforward. Others ask you to think sideways.

The fox's route takes you across the border into the neighboring canton, which is why you'll need your ID in your pocket. You're not on a guided tour. You're following footsteps, decoding clues and deciding which public transport to take next. A witch will help you at one point, the fire brigade will do their job at another, and you'll have to prove you can move fast enough to keep up. The starting documents tell you where to begin. Your printed barcode gets you the tickets at the departure station, and you stamp them before you set off.

Bring a charged phone for each team. You'll need it to solve some of the clues. The trail works for groups or solo travelers with kids. Children from age 4 can join. You should be comfortable walking and moving around for the full two hours, though the pace is yours to set.
