The experience
You meet your guide at the top station of Männlichen, a car-free area accessible only by gondola or train. From Grindelwald, you take the gondola all the way up and walk three minutes to the meeting building. Your guide will be waiting with a small white puppy and a sign reading "Private Tours Jungfrauregion." The summit sits at 2,061 meters, ringed by views of the Jungfrau region's most famous peaks and valleys.
After settling in, your guide walks you around the summit to point out landmarks and share stories about the region: Jungfraujoch, Mürren, Schilthorn, Lauterbrunnen Valley, and other well-known sites. This doubles as a scouting mission for your next days in the area. Your guide offers tips on what's worth seeing and how to spend your time. Then you move to the tasting spot, a postcard-perfect location with a mountain view, where the culinary part begins. You taste five kinds of Swiss cheese, each one discussed for its origin and character according to a cheese map. Regional cold cuts and freshly baked bread or crackers come alongside. Vegetarian options are available. The chocolate tasting follows: five very different Swiss chocolates, chosen to show the range of what the country makes. Jam or marmalade pairs with the cheese course. The whole experience lasts about two and a half hours.
Bring water, sunglasses, and good shoes. The site is at altitude and exposed, though the activity suits all fitness levels. Note that gondola or train tickets to the meeting point are not included in the price. You buy those separately. Tours run from October 27, 2025 through May 23, 2026, with the meeting point moving to Kleine Scheidegg during renovations on the Männlichen side. The experience may be canceled if conditions turn or if too few people book.
