The experience
What makes this work is the split session: while half the group snorkels, the other half descends to the seabed in a Sea Trek helmet. A weighted helmet fed air from the surface that lets you walk and breathe 20 feet down without needing certification or swimming ability. The descent itself is gradual, one step at a time down a 20-step ladder, so your body adjusts to the pressure and the equipment before you reach the bottom. Once there, a guide leads you along a railed path, keeping the walk comfortable and the group together.
The boat ride out to the platform is included, and so are the snorkel gear, life jacket, and a locker for your belongings on shore. You get one complementary drink when you finish. The whole activity takes about two hours from start to finish. A guide speaks English and manages both groups, rotating them through so everyone gets both experiences in a single outing.
Children as young as eight can join if they're able to walk and climb the ladder, equalize their ears, and are in good overall health. The activity is not recommended for anyone with back or neck injuries, ear problems, vertigo, heart conditions, or recent surgery. You'll need to sign a waiver before you start, and cameras aren't permitted during the Sea Trek portion for safety reasons. Wetsuits aren't included, though the water is warm enough that most people don't need them.

Is this one for you?You do both the snorkeling and the Sea Trek yourself in a shared group that rotates through each activity, so you're in the water the whole time rather than watching from a boat. This suits anyone who wants to experience the underwater Caribbean without certification or swimming ability, and the guided path on the seabed means you're never navigating alone.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (8 to 12 years); Infant (under 8): free.
What exactly is the Sea Trek helmet and how does it work?
The Sea Trek helmet is a weighted helmet connected to an air supply from the surface, letting you walk and breathe on the seabed just as you would on land. You descend a 20-step ladder at your own pace, becoming familiar with the equipment and water pressure as you go, then walk a guided path along the bottom for the full 30 minutes of your Sea Trek session.
Can I do this if I can't swim or have never snorkeled before?
Yes. Sea Trek is designed for non-swimmers and non-certified divers. The snorkeling portion is optional in the sense that the group rotates. If you're uncomfortable snorkeling, you'll spend that 30 minutes on the platform or in shallow water while waiting for your Sea Trek turn. The Sea Trek itself requires no swimming ability at all.
How long does the whole activity take and what's included?
The activity runs about two hours total. Included are the boat ride to the platform, snorkel gear and life jacket, a locker for your belongings, and one complementary drink when you finish. Wetsuits are not included, and cameras cannot be used during the Sea Trek portion.
What's the minimum age and are there health restrictions I should know about?
Children must be at least eight years old and able to walk and climb a ladder. The activity is not recommended for anyone with back or neck injuries, ear problems, vertigo, heart conditions, seizure history, or recent surgery. You'll sign a medical waiver before starting, and the activity should not happen within 12 hours of a scheduled flight.
