The experience

You've got a free afternoon or a morning before other plans, and the water is calling. Don't Worry, a sailing catamaran, picks up your group and heads out for four hours on the water. The boat carries snorkeling gear, a paddleboard, a floating mat and fishing rods if anyone wants to cast a line. The crew brings cold drinks (sodas, juices, water and beer) plus snacks: madeleines, oranges, nuts and chips. They share stories about the island as you sail.

The first stop is a snorkeler's site where underwater statues, a sunken submarine and a helicopter sit on the bottom. You enter the water with your own pace and explore what's below. After snorkeling, the boat heads to Baie Longue, the longest beach on the island: white sand, clear water, steep orange cliffs rising behind it, and the Belmond resort visible in the distance. It's quiet most days. You can swim, float on the mat, paddle the board or just sit on deck.

Choose the morning charter (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM) or the afternoon one (2:00 PM to 6:00 PM), depending on what fits the rest of your day. The itinerary can shift with weather, but the snorkel site and the beach are the anchors. Kids and infants are welcome. Anyone drinking alcohol must be 18.
