Taste four regional wines and learn what sets them apart

A 90-minute wine and tapas tasting in Cordoba where you sample four wines from the nearby Montilla-Moriles region (Fino, Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Vino de Tinaja) paired with four types of local tapas. Your host Francisco explains the history of winemaking in Cordoba and the characteristics of each wine as you taste. The session is held in a winery shop in the heart of the city and is open to guests 18 and over.

The experience

You arrive at a winery shop in central Cordoba where Francisco, your host for the evening, greets you. Over 90 minutes, he walks you through four wines from the Montilla-Moriles region, a renowned wine area near the city. Each wine (Vino de Tinaja, Fino, Oloroso, and the sweet Pedro Ximénez) comes with its own story about how it's made and what makes it distinct. You taste each one and learn to recognize the differences between them, moving through the styles and flavors that define the region.

Alongside the wines come four types of local tapas: cheese, chorizo, olives, salchichón, and breadsticks, all sourced locally and paired to complement what you're tasting. Francisco shares the broader history of Cordoba as a winemaking region, connecting the wines in your glass to the city's past. Whether you're already familiar with Spanish wines or exploring them for the first time, the tasting is built around what's in front of you: the flavors, the pairing, the regional story.
