Master paddleboarding basics, then paddle the S'Agaró coastline

A 1.5-hour stand-up paddleboarding lesson in S'Agaró bay, Costa Brava, for beginners. An instructor teaches you stance, paddling and balance on shore, then guides you into calm water to practice before you paddle along the coastline and explore caves and islands from the sea. All boards, paddles, life jackets and professional instruction are included. Small groups ensure personalized attention.

The experience

You start on the beach at S'Agaró with a brief onshore session where the instructor covers the fundamentals: proper stance, paddling technique and how to stay balanced on the board. The lesson is built for people who have never paddled before, so the pace stays with beginners and the focus stays on feeling steady before you leave the sand. Once you're ready, you head into the calm, clear water of the bay itself: a protected space where the instructor stays close and adjusts the guidance to how you're doing.

After you've practiced the basics in the shallows, you paddle out along the S'Agaró coastline. The route passes caves, small islands and channels carved into the cliffs, all visible only from the water. The instructor leads the way and points out the landscape as you go, keeping the pace relaxed so you can take in the views and feel the rhythm of paddling without strain. The whole session runs 1.5 hours from start to finish.

The operator provides the board, paddle, life jacket and wetsuit (on colder days). A rescue motor boat stands by if needed. You get a safe place to leave your belongings, a changing room, and civil liability and accident insurance as part of the booking. The guide speaks English or Spanish, and children from age 10 can join if accompanied by an adult. You'll need to be a confident swimmer: the operator requires it before anyone gets on the water.

What's the water like in S'Agaró bay when I'm learning?

S'Agaró bay stays calm and clear, which is why the operator chose it for beginners. The protected waters let you focus on balance and technique without fighting current or waves, and the visibility means you can see the seafloor as you practice.

Do I need paddleboarding experience to book this lesson?

No. The lesson is designed for beginners with no prior paddleboarding experience. The instructor teaches the basics on shore before you enter the water, and you practice in a safe, shallow area with guidance before paddling the coastline.

What happens if I'm not confident in the water?

You must be a comfortable swimmer to participate: the operator requires this before anyone starts. If swimming isn't your strength, this activity isn't the right fit, and the operator won't allow participation.
