Southern Menorca beaches tour: 7-hour boat trip with paella
Swim at five remote coves, then eat paella on the boat between stops
A 7-hour boat tour along southern Menorca visits the island's most secluded beaches and coves (Cala Macarella, Macarelleta, Son Saura and others) with time to swim and snorkel at each stop. Mixed paella with chicken and seafood, plus sangria and orange, is served on board. Audio guides are available in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German. The difficult land access to these coves makes the boat the practical way to reach them all in one day.

Step-by-step itinerary
Visit and bathe on southern beaches
- Visit lighthouse on way
- Disembark at Son Saura beach
- Optional 15-minute walk to Es Talaier cove
- Boat visit to remote cove near Son Saura
- Boat visit to Macarella and Macarelleta coves
- Bathe and snorkel at popular beach
The experience
The boat leaves for the south coast and works its way through five stops, each one a different beach or cove. You'll pass the lighthouse on the way out and back, then spend time swimming and exploring at Son Saura (where a 15-minute path leads to the smaller Es Talaier cove if you want to walk), and at the famous pair of Cala Macarella and Macarelleta. The final stop is a beach with the clearest water on the island, popular for snorkeling straight from the sand or from the boat itself. Between stops, the crew serves a mixed paella with chicken and seafood, accompanied by sangria and orange juice.
The 7-hour day means you're on the water from morning into early afternoon, with enough time at each cove to swim, rest and take in the landscape without rushing. Audio guides in five languages let you learn about what you're seeing as you go. Bring a towel and sunscreen. Coolers and outside food are not permitted on board, though travelers with food intolerances can bring their own meals to eat during the paella service.
