The ride is based at a family-run ranch out in the countryside. Once you're there, you meet the horses. Then you're out in it: pine forests, Mediterranean scrub, the kind of landscape that opens up around you. The Andalusian breed is what you're riding: an elegant local horse closely tied to this region's equestrian traditions. Your guide talks as you go, pointing out the land, the vegetation, how the locals live out here. It's not a lecture. It's more like someone showing you their backyard.

You come back to the stable and hand off the horse. If you need to wear a helmet, it's provided. If you're traveling with kids under 9, they ride with a parent on the same horse, so you're not managing two separate mounts. Long pants and closed shoes are what you want for a comfortable ride.
