Paddle your own pace down a quiet stretch of river, then join the main route

Descend the Sella River by canoe from Las Rozas in Asturias, paddling 4 kilometers of tranquil water before the traditional route begins. You choose between a 12 km trip ending at Nuevo Toraño or a full 19 km descent to Llovio, setting your own speed and stopping to swim or rest whenever you want. All equipment (canoe, paddles, life jacket and a waterproof container) is provided, and your dog travels free in the canoe with you.

The experience

The trip starts with a 4 km advantage: you launch directly from the Las Rozas base while other companies begin downstream, so you paddle through the river's quietest section alone. Once you reach the main route, the pace is entirely yours. Stop at the banks to swim, rest or grab a drink at Nuevo Toraño halfway through. The river has no schedule and neither do you.

You'll receive a brief paddling explanation and all the gear before launching: life jacket, canoe, oars and a waterproof container to keep your things dry. The two route options let you decide the day's length: the 12 km short route ends at Nuevo Toraño in roughly 3 to 4 hours, while the full 19 km descent to Llovio takes 4 to 6 hours. A van picks you up at the finish and returns you to the Las Rozas base, where changing rooms with hot showers and hair dryers are waiting.

Dogs travel free and paddle alongside you in the canoe, making this a rare family outing where your pet doesn't get left behind. Bring a swimsuit, water shoes that won't slip off (no flip-flops), and sunscreen. Everything else is handled.

What’s included

  • Life jacket, canoe, oars and waterproof container for your gear.
  • return transport from the finish point back to the Las Rozas base.
  • changing rooms with hot showers and hair dryers at the end of the trip.
