Marbella Food Tour: Tapas & Drinks with Local Guide
Taste your way through Marbella's old town without building the itinerary yourself.
A 3.5-hour walking food tour through Marbella's old town led by a local guide, stopping at small restaurants to taste tapas, cured ham, fried fish, croquetas and ice cream—the equivalent of a full meal. Water and alcoholic drinks are included; the guide speaks English and Spanish, and vegetarian options are available with advance notice.
Step-by-step itinerary
Marbella Food Tour with Tapas and Drinks
- Start walking tour in Marbella old town
- Taste pescaito frito and Jamón Ibérico
- Enjoy flautitas de pollo with guacamole
- Try carne con tomate stew
- Sample boquerones en vinagre and croquetas caseras
- End with homemade ice cream
The Experience
The tour starts in Marbella's old town and moves between at least four local restaurants on foot. Your guide is a local who knows the history and preparation of each dish, and can answer questions about the places you're eating. The stops are chosen to show different sides of Spanish coastal cuisine: you'll taste pescaito frito (fried fish), jamón ibérico (cured ham), flautitas de pollo con guacamole (chicken wraps), carne con tomate (a meat and tomato stew), boquerones en vinagre (marinated anchovies), and croquetas caseras de jamón (ham croquettes). By the end, you'll have eaten the equivalent of a full meal across the tastings.
The tour finishes at one of Marbella's oldest ice cream parlors, where you get homemade ice cream made using traditional methods. Water is provided throughout, and alcoholic drinks are included in fixed amounts for guests over 18; non-alcoholic options are available if you prefer. The group stays small—that's how Do Eat Better keeps the focus on genuine conversation and attention to each person rather than moving as a crowd.
If you have dietary restrictions, let the operator know before booking so they can arrange vegetarian options or work around allergies. Guests with severe or life-threatening food allergies cannot participate. The pace is moderate walking through the old town, so you'll need a reasonable level of fitness. Infants can come in a stroller, and service animals are welcome.
