Step-by-step itinerary
Visit Casteller Museum and immersive experience
- Explore audiovisual displays
- Interact with touch screens
- Experience Enxaneta 360º virtual reality
The experience
Valls is the birthplace of the castell tradition, and this museum sits at its heart. The permanent exhibition unfolds across 22 separate projections and large-format displays, each one built to show you a different layer of what castells are: the history, the technique, the culture, the risk. You move at your own pace through interactive touch screens that let you dig deeper into any part that grabs you. An audio guide in English or Spanish walks you through it all, so you're not reading plaques or guessing what you're looking at.
The Enxaneta 360° experience is the thing that sets this visit apart. Enxaneta is the person who stands at the very top of the tower, and this virtual reality piece puts you there. You wear VR glasses and relive the actual Castellera de Santa Úrsula festival from the Plaça del Blat: the real event, the real crowd, the real height. It's designed to give you the vertigo and the emotion of standing on top of a human tower without the years of training. Most visitors spend between one and two hours here, though you can move faster or slower depending on how deep you want to go into the exhibits.
The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with all areas and surfaces navigable and accessible transportation nearby. Strollers are welcome for infants and small children, and service animals are allowed throughout. The building itself is modern and built specifically for this collection, so the layout and the technology are designed to work for everyone.

Is this one for you?Choose the VR add-on if you want to feel what it's like to stand at the top of a human tower. The permanent exhibition alone gives you the full history and culture without the height simulation. The museum is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, so families with young children or anyone with mobility needs can move through at their own pace without barriers.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (12 to 17 years); Child (under 12): free.
What exactly are castells and why are they important to Catalonia?
Castells are human towers built by teams of people standing on each other's shoulders, a tradition unique to Catalonia that dates back centuries. UNESCO recognized them as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity because they represent a living cultural practice that combines strength, coordination, music and community. The museum shows how castells are built, the roles each person plays, and why they matter so deeply to Catalan identity.
Can I do the VR experience if I'm afraid of heights?
The Enxaneta 360° experience is designed to give you the sensation of standing at the top of a tower, so it does create that vertigo feeling. If heights make you uncomfortable, you can skip the VR add-on and spend your time with the permanent exhibition and temporary shows, which are equally immersive but ground-based.
How long does the whole visit take, including the VR experience?
Most visitors spend one to two hours in the museum. The time depends on how much you pause at each interactive display and how long you spend in the VR experience. There's no set route, so you control the pace.
Is there an audio guide, and what languages does it come in?
Yes, an audio guide is included with your ticket and is available in English and Spanish. It guides you through the permanent exhibitions and helps you understand what each projection and display is showing you.
What's included in the ticket, and is there an extra cost for the VR experience?
Your ticket includes entrance to the permanent exhibitions, the temporary exhibition "Camises," the audio guide, and WiFi throughout the museum. The Enxaneta 360° VR experience is an add-on option you can choose at checkout for an additional cost.
