The experience
The catamaran leaves from Puerto Denia and heads along the coast, passing coves and beaches as the captain navigates the shoreline. From the upper deck you look out at the Marine Reserve and back toward Denia's castle. The route is not fixed: the captain reads the sea and the weather and chooses which stretches to explore, so no two trips follow exactly the same path.
Carved Cova is a sea cave carved into the cliff face within the Marine Reserve, a protected zone where motor access is strictly limited. The boat approaches as close as regulations allow, and you stay aboard to view the cave and its surrounding rock formations. An audio guide in English or Spanish plays during this stop, describing how the cave was created over time. A refreshing drink (white wine for adults or water) comes with the ticket and is served while you take in the views.
The whole outing runs about an hour. Infants sit on a lap. The boat suits all fitness levels. Service animals are welcome, and public transport reaches the departure point.
