A free fall suspended between two bridges over a canyon.

Bungee jumping in Mascarat is a 15-minute activity where you jump 60 meters between two bridges (one modern, one built in the 19th century) that span the Mascarat Canyon between Altea and Calpe. This is the only bridge-to-bridge bungee jump in Spain. You get a 40-meter free fall, a pendulum swing, qualified guides in English, Spanish or French, full body harness and helmet, double safety system with two ropes and two anchors, and video recorded from the bridge. Children are welcome from age 14.

The experience

What makes this jump different is the setup itself: you're launching from a platform between two bridges, one modern and one a 19th-century engineering landmark, suspended over the Barranc Salat. A narrow canyon carved into the rocky coastline between Altea and Calpe. The 60-meter height gives you a 40-meter free fall before the rope catches and swings you in a pendulum arc over the canyon. The whole experience takes 15 minutes from start to finish.

You wear a certified full body harness and approved helmet, and the jump uses a double safety system: two separate ropes, two anchors and two connectors, so there's redundancy built in at every point. Sports technicians and qualified guides handle the setup and talk you through it in English, Spanish or French. Insurance covers accidents and liability. A guide records video and photos from the bridge using a mobile phone mount, so you get footage of the jump itself.

The location matters: you're jumping over a narrow canyon very close to the sea, with mountainous and rocky terrain around you. It's the only place in Spain where this type of jump happens between two bridges. The activity suits anyone from age 14 onward and all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for people with spinal injuries, cardiovascular issues or if you're pregnant.
