The experience

The tour starts at Arc de Triomf and moves into Parc de la Ciutadella, where you'll cover ground on the Segway that would take an hour on foot. The guide leads you past the Barcelona Zoo, then down toward La Barceloneta and the waterfront landmarks (Frank Gehry's golden fish sculpture, the PRBB building, Hotel Arts) before reaching Nova Icaria Beach and the Olympic port's parks and plazas. The whole route takes 90 minutes, and because you're gliding instead of walking, you see more of the city's layout and how the neighborhoods connect.

A local guide in your chosen language handles the route and points out what you're passing. They also manage the group pace so nobody gets left behind. The Segway itself does most of the work once you're balanced on it. The learning curve is short, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels. You'll wear a helmet throughout, and insurance is included in the price.
