The Experience
If you're arriving in the Eastern Cape with a free afternoon or a port day on a cruise, this combo avoids the choice between two parks by taking you through both. Addo Elephant Park comes first—a national reserve where elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo move through the landscape in their own rhythm, and a guide who knows the terrain can position you to watch them without the noise of a larger group. The vehicle is closed and air-conditioned, which matters when the midday heat builds.
Kragga Kamma Game Park is the second half, a private reserve a short drive away where you'll see giraffes, white rhino, bontebok and impalas—animals that don't inhabit Addo. Because it's smaller and malaria-free, the pace is different; you move through it more directly and the sightings come faster. Between the two parks, you stop at Nanaga farm stall for lunch: roosterkoek (a South African grilled bread), homemade pie and a drink of your choice, which breaks the day and gives you a moment outside the vehicle.
The tour runs 9 to 10 hours door-to-door. If you're on a cruise ship, the driver will wait at the terminal if your vessel is running late and coordinate the return to match your ship's schedule. Hotel guests get standard pickup and drop-off. Binoculars are provided, and the guide speaks English and knows both parks well enough to explain what you're seeing as it happens—not just name the animals, but read the landscape for where they're likely to be.

What animals will I actually see on this safari?
Addo Elephant Park is home to the Big 5—elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo—plus zebras, warthogs and various antelope. Kragga Kamma Game Park hosts three of the Big 5 (rhinos, lions and leopards) and also giraffes, white rhino, bontebok and impalas that don't roam Addo, so the two parks show you different herds and species in one day.
How long does the tour take and what's included in the price?
The tour runs 9 to 10 hours total. Entry to both Addo Elephant Park and Kragga Kamma Game Park, a local guide, the air-conditioned vehicle, lunch with a drink at Nanaga farm stall, bottled water, biltong, biscuits, binoculars and hotel or cruise terminal pickup and drop-off are all included.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes, children from age 5 are welcome. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels, and the closed vehicle means younger passengers stay comfortable during the drive between parks and during wildlife viewing.
What happens if my cruise ship is running late?
The driver will wait at the cruise ship terminal for you to disembark and adjust the tour timing to match your ship's schedule, then coordinate your return to the terminal before departure.
Will I need to bring anything or wear specific clothing?
Binoculars are provided. Bring sunscreen, a hat and light layers—the vehicle is air-conditioned but you may step out for photos or at the farm stall. Closed shoes are practical for walking near the vehicle at stops.
