The experience

The Point Waterfront Canal is where Zulumoon Gondolas operates five departures daily, from 11am through 6pm. You board one of their African gondolas and settle in as the gondolier takes the oars. The whole point is to step out of the rush: no itinerary, no stops, just the slow drift of the boat and the water around you. Forty minutes is long enough to actually relax, not just pause.

The picnic basket is the detail that makes this different. It's hand-crafted right here in Durban by the Society for the Blind, and it comes with snacks included. As you drift, you'll notice the bridges overhead (they're worth the camera), and the fish life in the canal.
