Summary

Helicopter ride over Cape Town’s capes and wild coastline

You’ll soar above Table Mountain and along the wild Cape Peninsula by helicopter, gliding past the Twelve Apostles and circling Cape Point with live commentary from your local pilot. After landing, relax with an included boat cruise—two perspectives on one unforgettable coastline.

experience

What’s the experience like?

We lifted off from the helipad just outside Cape Town, rotors thumping in my chest, and suddenly the city dropped away—Table Mountain sliding under us like some kind of green-grey tablecloth. Our pilot, Sipho, grinned in the headset and pointed out Robben Island before banking south. I could smell the ocean even up here, or maybe it was just nerves, honestly. The glass curved around us so wide I kept forgetting there was anything between me and the wind.

We skimmed past the Twelve Apostles, their shadows sharp against the sea. I tried to snap a photo but my hands were shaking (not scared, just excited—well, maybe a bit of both). Sipho told us about growing up in Muizenberg and how surfers still argue about which break is best. When we reached Cape Point, he slowed down so we could really take it in—the cliffs looked jagged enough to tear a sail. Someone behind me gasped when a wave exploded against the rocks. I think I laughed too loud into my mic.

The flight circled back along False Bay—Boulder's Beach somewhere below us, though I didn’t spot any penguins this time. Light flickered on the water like broken glass. On our way north again, Sipho joked about whales but all I saw was endless blue and that weird sense of being both tiny and huge at once. We touched down and my ears rang for a minute; stepping out felt unreal after all that sky.

I still think about that view over Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve—how small everything looked but also how close it felt from up there. If you get a clear day (we did), you’ll never see Cape Town the same way again.
