The experience
The day starts in Victoria, Mahé's only town, where you walk through the local market, see the clock tower, Hindu temple and cathedrals: the places where most of the island's history sits. From there the route climbs to La Misère for a panoramic view over the northeast and east coasts, then cuts through the Morn Seychellois national park to see the density of the forest up close. The tea factory comes next, perched on the southwest coast with views across the water. You can tour it, buy tea, or sit in the small restaurant for a cup.
A waterfall stop gives you a short walk in nature and a chance to swim if there is enough water. The rum distillery, housed in a colonial building from 1792, offers tasting (priced separately), shopping, cocktails and a small garden to explore. The craft village shows local artisans at work inside another colonial house from the 1870s, with a coco de mer collection and perfume made from the coco de mer skin. Between stops you pull over at different beaches along the coast for photos and swimming if the weather holds.
At the end of the day you choose which garden to visit: the botanical garden, spice garden, or flower exotic garden (each has an entry fee paid on site). The whole route is built around what you want to do. If snorkeling matters more than the distillery, or a second beach stop more than the waterfall, the guide can adjust it. Groups stay at a maximum of six adults and one child to keep the van comfortable for the drive.
