The experience

You're picked up from your hotel and driven to Vallée de Mai, the smallest UNESCO World Heritage site in the world. A guide walks you through the forest to show you the endemic Coco de mer plant and the fauna and flora that live nowhere else. The entrance fee is 30€ per person and is not included in the tour price.

After Vallée de Mai, you visit the Praslin Museum at Cote d'Or to learn how Seychellois lived in earlier times. The museum includes a tasting: you drink fresh coconut water straight from the nut and eat coconut prepared the traditional way, so you understand how central the plant is to island life. The museum entrance is 10€ per person, also separate from your tour cost. If you're staying in the Grand-Anse area, the driver can stop at Cote d'Or Beach on the way.

The tour ends with the rest of the afternoon free at Anse Lazio, one of Praslin's most beautiful beaches. Two restaurants there (Maburya and Les Chevalier) serve lunch and drinks if you want to stay longer. Your driver returns you to your hotel when you're ready.
