The Red Bus Bistro is a vintage Routemaster bus registered in 1966, with an upper and lower deck. You board at Shuttle Street near George Street and settle at a shared table: the bus seats 12 downstairs and 28 upstairs, so expect to dine alongside other passengers unless you book a quieter tour. The tour lasts roughly 90 minutes and moves through Glasgow's main attractions without stopping to get off. You stay seated and eat while the city passes outside.

The food arrives as the bus moves. You get a home-baked warm scone with cream, jam and strawberry garnish; handmade sandwich selections; a warm mini quiche; a selection of petit fours; and unlimited tea and coffee throughout. There is no toilet on board, so plan accordingly. The bus has at least four staff members working during the tour.

This is a dining experience, not a guided commentary tour. There is no live narration or recorded guide. You see Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow University, the Transport Museum, and other landmarks as the bus routes through them, but the focus stays on the meal and the company at your table. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The tour is not suitable for children aged 5 and under. Service animals are allowed on board.
