Three and a half hours takes you from a viewpoint over Serra do Cume's patchwork of farm fields down into the working rhythm of a family dairy operation. You start at the overlook to see the scale of Azorean pastureland, then head to the farm itself where the cows are already out grazing. This is hands-on from the start: you learn the milking process by doing it, feed the calves by hand, and walk through the milk collection station to see where the day's output goes. Shoe covers are provided so you can move freely through the working areas.

The tasting comes at the end: fresh milk straight from the pasture-raised herd, local cheese, and bread.
