A two-hour private surf lesson in Braga for beginners, taught by professional coaches in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French. The lesson starts at the school 30 meters from the beach with a warmup and technique instruction, then moves into the water for guided practice on real waves. Beginner surfboard, 4/3 mm wetsuit and insurance are included. Children from age 6 are welcome.

The experience

You meet at The Salt Flow school, 30 meters from the beach, where the coaches get to know you and assess your experience level. They fit you with a beginner surfboard and a 4/3 mm wetsuit (you can change in the bathhouse or dress outside), then walk to the water. Before paddling out, you check the waves on both the north and south side of Ofir and pick the best conditions for the group.

The lesson itself breaks into three parts. First comes a warmup, then the coaches teach the fundamentals: how to paddle, catch a wave, stand up, take off safely and read ocean conditions. You move into the water for the core of the lesson: practicing what you just learned while the coaches give feedback, advice and hands-on help. The final stretch is about review and recovery: stretching, breathing work and a moment to enjoy what you've just done.

The Salt Flow has run this program since 2015 and tailors each session to tidal conditions that speed up learning. Pickup is included, and the coaches speak your language (English, Spanish, Portuguese or French), so instruction flows without translation delays.
