The Experience

You meet at Albandeira Beach where the guide hands you a kayak, paddle, life jacket and waterproof bag, then walks you through a safety briefing before launching. The pace is relaxed—no rushing between stops—and the guide stays with you the whole time, pointing out rock formations, explaining the local history and marine life as you paddle. The route covers roughly five kilometers of coastline, which sounds like distance until you realize most of it is spent actually inside caves and around hidden passages rather than crossing open water.

Benagil Cave is the centerpiece: you paddle straight into it by kayak and stay in the water, which is how the tour works under local rules.
