The experience

The tour picks you up at 10:30 and drives you to the first winery, arriving by 11:00. You walk the vineyards and tour the winery itself, then sit down at 12:30 for a lunch that pairs dishes with carefully chosen wines from the estate. At 14:00 you leave for the second winery, arriving around 14:30 for another guided visit. At 15:30 a commented tasting of the winery's wines follows, and you're back in Évora by 16:30. The whole day runs about seven hours.

Each of the five routes (Reguengos, Arraiolos, Vidigueira, Redondo and Estremoz) features different wineries, so the specific estates and wines shift depending on which one you book. All tastings draw from Alentejo's best producers. Transport is in an air-conditioned vehicle, and your guide speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese depending on the group.
