The experience

Seven hours door-to-door, with the bulk of it spent in the water. You're picked up from your Krakow hotel or a meeting point and driven in an air-conditioned vehicle to Chocholow, where you get a three-hour pass to the thermal pools. The water comes from 3600 meters below ground and holds its warmth year-round at 36°C, so you're soaking in naturally heated mineral water rich in sulfur, calcium, magnesium and sodium. Eight separate whirlpools let you move between temperatures and intensities, and the outdoor setting means you're surrounded by the Tatra Mountains while you float.

The pools aren't just for floating. Water volleyball, volcano geysers, water walls and inflatable slides are all there if you want them, so the evening can be as active or as still as you feel. An English-speaking driver handles the transport both ways, and you're back near Krakow's Old Town by the end of the night. If you book the Zakopane option, the day starts earlier: you visit Zakopane first, ride the funicular up Gubalowka hill to 1200 meters and take in the mountain panorama, then head to Chocholow for the evening soak. Either way, the thermal pools are the centerpiece.
