The Experience
You'll cover 7.5 miles at a relaxed pace on new 2023 Dutch bikes fitted with comfortable seats, 7 speeds and a front basket — or choose an e-bike if you prefer. The tour starts with bike setup and a safety briefing at the meeting point, where staff help you find the right fit and answer any questions before you roll out.
The route begins in the Old Town's main market square, Europe's largest medieval marketplace, where you'll see the Cloth Hall, town hall tower and St. Mary's Basilica while hearing stories of medieval trade and the legend of a trumpeter. From there you cycle past the Jagiellonian University, where Copernicus studied, and up to Wawel hill to learn about the seat of Polish kings. A dedicated bike lane takes you through some of Krakow's best panoramic views before you reach Kazimierz, once the heart of the Jewish community and now a district of galleries, cafes and local spots. You'll stop at Plac Nowy, the old kosher meat market now known for its local zapiekanka snack, and pass streets featured in Spielberg's Schindler's List.
The tour includes stops at Ghetto Heroes Square, a monument to victims of the Jewish ghetto, and Oskar Schindler's Factory, where Schindler saved over 1,000 lives during World War II. You'll ride through Planty Park, a green belt circling the old town, and see the remaining medieval fortifications at the Great Barbican and St. Florian's Gate. A local guide leads the whole route and a rain poncho is provided if weather turns.
