The Experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel, hostel or apartment in Kraków. You'll travel in a shared air-conditioned minivan with other travelers, and the driver provides historical context during the drive to the camp. Transport, parking, fuel and insurance are all covered in the price.

At Auschwitz, an official English-speaking museum guide leads the group through the camp. The walking tour lasts roughly 3.5 hours and covers the main compound—the barracks, gas chambers, crematorium and prisoner records. After Auschwitz, you move to Birkenau (the extermination camp), where the guide leads another hour of walking across the vast grounds and the remains of the camp's infrastructure. The minivan transports you between the two sites.

After the tour ends, the driver returns you to your hotel, hostel or apartment in Kraków. The entire day, including travel time, runs about 7 hours. Infant car seats are available if you're traveling with young children; the tour welcomes children from age 3. A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to run.
