The experience
The mangroves are the reason to come. You paddle through a dense network of roots and branches that shelter birds, crabs, and juvenile fish, while the guide explains how these coastal forests protect the shoreline from erosion and storm surge. The waterways are narrow and serene (no crowds, no noise), and the ecosystem shifts as you move through it. After an hour or so in the mangroves, the tour moves to the sandbar that appears at low tide: a strip of soft white sand surrounded by turquoise water and ringed by limestone cliffs.
The sandbar is where the day slows down. You get two hours there for lunch, swimming, and photographs. The water is shallow and clear enough to snorkel if you want to see the marine life nearby, or you can walk the length of the sand and watch the islands and cliffs from the water's edge. Lunch is served on the beach: a simple meal, but eaten in a place most tourists never reach because the timing has to be exact.
Pickup happens at your hotel, and the full seven hours includes the hour each way to and from the activity site. The guide speaks English and can answer questions about what you're seeing in the mangroves and why the sandbars form the way they do. All entry fees and taxes are covered in the price, so there are no surprises at the end.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 5 years); Infant (1 to 3 years): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What wildlife will I see while kayaking through the mangroves?
The mangroves shelter birds, crabs, and juvenile fish that depend on the dense root system for protection and breeding grounds. You'll see them from the kayak as you paddle through the waterways, though sightings depend on the time of day and tide.
How long do I actually spend kayaking versus on the sandbar?
Most of the paddling happens in the mangroves during the first part of the tour. You then spend two hours on the sandbar for lunch and relaxation, with the remaining time split between hotel pickup, travel to the site, and drop-off.
Is the sandbar accessible at all times, or does it depend on the tide?
The sandbar appears during low tide, so the tour is timed to reach it when the sand is exposed. This is why the timing matters and why the tour runs for a full seven hours. The schedule follows the tidal cycle.
Can I snorkel at the sandbar, or is it just for swimming and relaxing?
The shallow, clear water around the sandbar is suitable for snorkeling if you want to explore the marine life nearby. You can also swim, walk the sand, or simply rest. The two hours there are yours to use as you prefer.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to bring?
Lunch, boat transfers, all fees and taxes, pickup and drop-off at your hotel, and an English-speaking guide are all included. Bring sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a camera. The operator allows service animals on the tour.
