The experience
You arrive in Cusco with a free afternoon or a morning to spare, and you want to do something that feels real, not another market walk or ruin tour. This half-day climbing session puts you on actual rock faces 10 to 100 meters high in the Sacred Valley, with an instructor managing the ropes and safety while you do the climbing. The guide speaks English or Spanish, and pickup from your hotel or the Vértigo base is handled. You show up ready to climb.
The setup is straightforward: harness, helmet, rope, climbing shoes (called cat feet), chalk and an instructor who monitors your every move. Three hours on the rock means you're climbing, not traveling or sitting through explanations. The rock formations sit among Inca terraces and sacred mountains, so the landscape is part of the climb itself, not a backdrop you pass through on the way to something else. Beginners start on lower sections. Intermediates and advanced climbers tackle steeper terrain on the same outing, so the group moves at its own pace on different routes.
Transportation from Vértigo Sacred Valley or your Cusco accommodation is included, so you don't arrange a separate ride. Snacks are provided during the session. The whole thing (travel, climbing, safety gear) wraps in a half day, which means you're back with time left for lunch or to rest before an evening activity.
What’s included
- Climbing guide in English or Spanish.
- harness, helmet, rope and climbing shoes.
- chalk and magnesium.
- snack during the session.
- pickup from your Cusco hotel or Vértigo Sacred Valley base.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you have a half day free and want to climb real rock instead of watching a demonstration or doing a guided walk. The instructor handles all safety and rope work, so you focus on the climbing itself: beginners and experienced climbers climb on the same outing, just on different sections of the rock.
