The Experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel (or a meeting point, depending on your option) and heads to Love Park in Miraflores, a small, colorful refuge overlooking the Pacific. The park's centerpiece is a sculpture called "El Beso" by Peruvian sculptor Víctor Delfín, and the design draws inspiration from Park Güell in Barcelona. From here you move to Huaca Pucllana, a sacred site built by the Lima culture, seen in a panoramic view that frames the pyramid against the modern city behind it.

The guide then walks you through Lima's historic center, starting at Plaza Mayor. You'll see the Cathedral of Lima, the Archiepiscopal Palace, and the Government Palace while learning about the old viceroyalty. After the main square, you stop at a chocolate museum that traces the history of cocoa and chocolate in Peru, with tastings of typical liquors and jams. The group also passes an old train station converted into the House of Peruvian Literature and has time to browse artisan shops before moving to a traditional colonial bar, where you learn to make pisco sour—Peru's national cocktail.

The final stop is the San Francisco Convent, Museum, and Catacombs. A 30-minute guided tour takes you through the museum and down to some of the oldest cemeteries in the city, buried beneath the convent. After the tour ends, return to your hotel is arranged, though you're free to stay in the center for lunch or dinner on your own.
