The experience
The tour starts outside the tourist information at Nordre gate 11 and moves at a pace you set: walk or jog, speed up or slow down, and the guide adjusts with you. Within the first minutes you're at the fjord's edge, then past churches and riverbanks toward Nidaros Cathedral, the boathouses and wharves, and across the bridge for views of its famous red arch. Tyholt tower and Kristiansten fortress (built 1685) come into view along the route, with an optional detour up to the fortress if you want it.
Bakklandet's wooden houses and narrow old streets make up the second half, and the smell from the boats and fjord gives the whole loop a sense of place without slowing you down. Because the pace is yours, you see almost everything the city has to offer in a single hour: useful when you're tight on time or want a solid overview before exploring deeper. Short stops can be arranged if something catches your eye, and the route can end at a restaurant, attraction or location you choose instead of the starting point.

Top questions
What's the actual route, do we cover the whole city center in an hour?
Yes. The tour loops from Nordre gate through the fjord breeze, past Nidaros Cathedral and the boathouses, across the red arch bridge, up to views of Kristiansten fortress, and through Bakklandet's old streets: almost all the main sights fit inside 60 minutes because you're moving the whole time.
Can I walk instead of jog, or do I have to keep up with a fast pace?
The pace adjusts to each participant, so you walk, jog or mix both at whatever speed works for you. The guide is a personal trainer and moves with the group, not ahead of it.
What if I want to stop and look at something, or end somewhere other than the start?
Short stops along the route can be arranged, and the tour can end at a restaurant, attraction or location of your choice instead of returning to Nordre gate.
Is Kristiansten fortress included, or is that an extra detour?
You see the fortress from the route, and a detour up to it can be made if you want. It's optional and the guide will ask.
Do I need to book transport to the starting point, or is pickup included?
Pickup is included. The tour starts at the tourist information at Nordre gate 11, and public transportation options are available nearby if you prefer to get there on your own.
