The experience
You start in regular hiking clothes and shoes (waterproof ones are better), then pull on the overalls, gloves, helmet and headlamp the operator provides. A guide leads you to the cave entrance, and from there you walk into passages carved by water and time. The darkness is real. The headlamp is what lets you see the rock walls and formations around you. You move through the cave at a steady pace, stopping inside what locals call the "living room": a wider chamber where the group pauses for a snack before heading back out.
The walk takes about 3 hours total. The cave itself shows what water does to limestone over centuries, and a guide who knows the place explains what you're standing inside. Children from age 4 can come. The operator notes the activity suits all fitness levels, though severe claustrophobia would make it uncomfortable. The gear (helmet, headlamp, overalls) stays with you the whole time and handles the damp underfoot.
What’s included
