The Experience

The tour starts in central Oslo, passing Stortinget (the Parliament Building) and Karl Johans Gate, the city's main shopping street. From there the route heads to the Royal Palace and its grounds before climbing up to Holmenkollen Ski Jump Centre. The ride itself is the point—you're moving through the city on a retro bike, not sitting still—and the views from Holmenkollen stretch across Oslo and the surrounding fjord. The ski museum next door holds over 4,000 years of skiing history if you want to linger, and Frognerseter restaurant nearby serves food and drinks with the same panoramic outlook.

The tour continues to Vigeland Sculpture Park, a 32-acre public park holding over 200 bronze and granite sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. The park also contains Norway's largest rose collection—over 40,000 plants across 150 species—and the Frogner Stadium and open-air pool sit within the grounds. Stops here are optional, so you choose whether to get off and walk among the sculptures or stay on the bike and ride through.

The final leg heads to Bygdøy Peninsula, where five museums cluster together: the Kon-Tiki, Fram, Maritime, Viking Ships and Folk museums, plus the Royal summerhouse. Museum entry fees are separate, but if you do visit one, a regular ferry service runs back to Aker Brygge from near the Kon-Tiki museum. Helmets and gloves come with the tour; the operator also provides cagoules if weather turns, and recommends dressing in layers for the ride.
