The experience

The tour starts at the harbor next to the Statue of Tordenskjold, where you can see across to Tjuvholmen with the Astrup Faernly museum, Aker Brygge with the Nobel Peace Center, and the National Museum of art and design. From there the route moves into Kvadraturen, Oslo's oldest neighborhood, walking Rådhusgata past some of the city's oldest buildings and art galleries including the Art Association.

You'll reach the fjord at the end of Rådhusgata for views of Bjørvika, the newest district, where the Opera House, the sculpture "She lies," and the Munch Museum sit against the water. The walk crosses the Akrobaten bridge to see the Barcode development, then follows the river path through Grünerløkka: a former industrial area now filled with vintage stores, galleries and street art. Along the way you'll pass Norway's leading cultural church, which hosts theater, art exhibitions and concerts.

Your guide adjusts the stops and pace to match your interests and the group's rhythm. The itinerary can shift based on weather, and entry tickets to museums, monuments or transportation are separate from the tour price.
