The Experience
You start from Kviby, a small village surrounded by dramatic Arctic terrain, after being picked up from your accommodation. Once there, you receive a helmet, full warm clothing and a safety briefing before climbing onto your ATV. The route follows the coastline—one of the area's most productive fishing waters and a location known for clear skies when aurora conditions align. You ride in small groups, no more than fourteen people total, with two riders per machine.
The five-hour tour is built around the search for Northern Lights rather than a fixed itinerary. Your guide, fluent in English and steeped in Northern Norwegian nature and culture, navigates the ride to chase the best viewing conditions as the evening unfolds. While the green lights dancing across the Arctic sky cannot be guaranteed—weather and atmospheric conditions are beyond anyone's control—the guide commits to going the extra mile to find them if they are visible that night. Between scanning the sky, you move through untouched landscape, stopping at the fishing waters and other points along the coast where the guide shares the stories of the region.
After the ride ends, you're transported back to your original pickup point. The ATV rental, fuel and all protective gear stay included throughout, so there are no additional equipment costs once you've booked. A valid driver's license is required to operate the machine, and riders must be at least 18 years old. The maximum weight per ATV is 200 kg.
