The experience
The day starts at the National Museum, where the guide walks you through Nigeria's history, culture and traditions from pre-independence through to today. The J.K. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History comes next: a museum and community space that opened in 2022 on the grounds of the former J.K. Randle Memorial Hall, built around centuries of Yoruba creativity and spiritual practice. The architecture and the curation are the point here. It is not a quick stop.
The Lekki Conservation Center is where the day shifts to nature. You walk a 401-meter canopy walkway that gives an aerial view of the Lekki peninsula, then move through the grounds to see the biodiversity up close. After that comes the Lekki Arts & Craft Market, an open-air marketplace where local artisans sell handmade work, textiles and souvenirs. The Nike Art Gallery, a privately owned space with locally made and contemporary pieces, closes the route. The guide is with you throughout. Water and snacks are provided.
The tour runs 7 to 8 hours total. An air-conditioned vehicle moves you between stops. At checkout, you can add Freedom Park or the Fela Museum to the itinerary if you want to extend the day further.
