The experience
The route moves through four countries in five days, stopping at sites tied to West Africa's history and culture. Day one stays in Lagos with Makoko Floating Village, Lekki Conservation Centre and Nike Arts Center. Day two crosses into Benin with a stop at Badagry Slave Center, then the Amazon Statue in Cotonou, before reaching Ouidah for the Python Temple, Museum of History and Sacred Forest. Day three heads into Togo, pausing at Togoville and Agbodrafo Slave House before the Fetish Market in Lomé. Day four moves into Ghana, passing the Independence Monument and Grand Marche market in Togo, then touring Accra's Independence Arch. Day five goes to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Kakum National Park before returning to Accra.
Private transportation and a professional local guide handle the logistics that usually slow multi-country trips: border crossings are arranged, permits are secured, and the vehicle stays with you throughout. The guide speaks English or French and knows the stops well enough to move between them without the usual delays. Hotel pickup is included, and bottled water travels with you. All entrance fees and taxes are paid upfront, so there's no negotiation at each gate.
You can start the tour from any of the four countries depending on where you arrive, and the itinerary can flex around your flight schedule. The tour ends in Accra, from where you catch your onward flight or move to your next destination. Specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with small children, and the pace suits all fitness levels.
