Most helicopter flights over the Himalayas keep you in the air; this one puts you on the ground at Annapurna Basecamp, 4,130 meters up, for a full 30 minutes. The 15-minute ride out from Pokhara crosses the Pokhara Valley and brings the Annapurna ranges, Machhapuchre and Hiunchuli into view as you climb. Then you land and step out.
At the basecamp you have time to move around, take photographs and drink a cup of coffee while you stand in the middle of the mountains. The altitude is real—4,130 meters—but the landing site is a working basecamp, not a remote peak, so the ground is stable and the stay is long enough to feel the place rather than just pass through it. An English-speaking guide is with you for the whole tour.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are arranged for you, along with airport transfers and airport tax.
